About us

In 1978, Tom Metcalfe and business partner Brian Tattersall formed Metcalfe & Tattersall. Based in Oswaldtwistle the company specialised in the sale and sharpening of circular
saw blades and bandsaws. For the next 22 years, Metcalfe & Tattersall were leaders in their field and were the premier saw sharpening service in Lancashire and beyond.
The company also employed Tom’s son, Dave Metcalfe.

 In 2000, Tom retired from the company and in the same year Dave also left and started a new business - Metcalfe Industrial Saws, offering a service second-to-none.

Dave’s son, Danny joined the family business after leaving school and was trained in
all aspects of blade sharpening by his dad.

Sadly in 2021 Dave passed away and Danny took over the running of the business
continuing the high standards of quality work set by his dad.

After a tough few years following Dave‘s death Metcalfe Industrial Saws continues to offer the same unbeatable service including a delivery and collection throughout Lancashire
